Build boldly. Explore freely. Build community.
Kole is a culturally inspired building system that transforms play into a language of creativity, storytelling, and community. Through open-ended building experiences, Kole encourages people of all ages to explore identity, communicate ideas, and create meaningful connections with others.
Designed by artist and educator Isaiah Aladejobi, Kole was born from the belief that creativity is one of our most powerful tools for learning, self-expression, and preserving culture. Inspired by African architecture, contemporary design, and the diverse communities of Washington, DC, Kole invites builders to imagine without instructions and discover that every shape has the potential to tell a story.
Whether through tactile cardboard, engraved wood, or vibrant acrylic pieces, each Kole set encourages hands-on exploration that stimulates both the senses and the imagination. Every build becomes an opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and reflect—transforming play into a shared creative experience.
More than a product, Kole is an educational platform that lives through workshops, museum programs, schools, community events, and public installations. By bringing together art, design, culture, and sensory learning, Kole helps bridge generations, nurture emotional expression, and inspire curiosity in a world increasingly shaped by digital experiences.
At its core, Kole believes that culture is something we build together. Every structure reflects a story, every collaboration strengthens community, and every act of play reminds us that imagination has the power to connect people across generations, identities, and backgrounds.

KOLE Workshops
Each workshop begins with a theme identity, storytelling, community, or imagination that guides participants as they design and construct. Builders explore how shapes, colors, and structures can become personal symbols of memory, culture, and vision. Along the way, they engage in reflection, dialogue, and collaboration, discovering how play can be a tool for communication and connection.
Workshops adapt to different audiences:
For students and schools: Kole fosters curiosity, problem-solving, and STEAM-based learning through a culturally grounded lens.
For families and communities: Workshops provide joyful opportunities to create together, bridging generations through shared play.
For artists and educators: Kole becomes a new medium for experimentation, collaboration, and dialogue.
More than just an art activity, Kole Workshops emphasize the importance of imagination as a lifelong practice. They invite participants to build not only physical structures, but also connections—between ideas, cultures, and people.
