Taking place across neighborhoods “East of the River,” the National Symphony Orchestra’s In Your Neighborhood program uses the power of music to unite, empower, and celebrate our DC communities. Working in collaboration with local organizations and schools, we invite you to join us for a week of free performances and activities in celebration of the cultural legacy and traditions of these neighborhoods.

I aimed to create a design that truly embodied the unique musical identity of the city. With its vibrant gogo scene and a multitude of instruments that define the genre, I believed this essence could be captured and showcased in the design for the National Symphony Orchestra.
Similar to the orchestra's diverse range of instruments, each layering upon the other to create a harmonious whole, I wanted the design to reflect this intricate combination of details. The abstracted form symbolizes the instruments coming together as a unified entity yet remaining adaptable to different environments. This mirrors the orchestra's efforts to introduce their music in innovative ways to new audiences.
Through this design, I strived to highlight the rich musical heritage of the city and its ability to evolve and resonate with diverse communities. It serves as a visual representation of the orchestra's commitment to bridging gaps and bringing the joy of music to all.
